Newspaper in Education

NIE offers 45-minute* guided tours for school groups and community youth organizations. Participants go behind-the-scenes to view how a daily newspaper is created. If you come in the late morning, you'll see our printing press in action! Call well in advance to schedule all tours: 413/585-5289.

Once the tour is scheduled, teachers/tour leaders will receive a pre-tour package to help prepare students for their visit. Tour groups are limited to children who are in first grade or older, please. We can not offer guided tours to children in kindergarten or nursery school but we would be happy to help you set up a newspaper workshop designed for early learners.

*Large tours over 20 students may take longer than 45 minutes.
