Newspaper in Education

Deborah O. Doulette, NIE Manager, has worked with NIE programs since 1998. She is a certified social studies teacher and former school librarian. A graduate of local public schools, Deborah's interest in newspapers began with her "Persuasion" class at Amherst Regional High! She graduated Trinity College in Hartford in 1988 and went on to receive a master's degree in American Studies at the College of William and Mary. After living in the Washington, DC area for 8 years Deborah returned to the Pioneer Valley to start her family. She and her husband Glenn have one daughter, Charlotte, plus two dogs, one cat and 16 chickens (at last count!).

Linda Paquette, NIE Assistant, joined the Gazette's NIE program in the winter of 2002. She also works as a substitute teacher in the William E. Norris Elementary School and operates a local pet care business. She is on the board of a local youth athletic association and of a local outdoor sporting club. A "native" to the Pioneer Valley, Linda attended Northampton Public Schools. Linda is the mother of two children, Zach and Eaina, and lives with her husband Ray in Southampton.
