Newspaper in Education

NIE provides you with a marvelous opportunity to show our community you care about kids and education!

The Daily Hampshire Gazette's Newspaper in Education (NIE) program is a dynamic project that reaches teachers, parents and school kids in Hampshire and Franklin Counties every year.

As you may know, our local teachers often use their own personal money to fund classroom projects. We ask teachers during the ordering process if the school can pay for the papers, often the answer is no. We assure them we will find a local sponsor! That is where you come in!

Sponsorship dollars go directly to help teachers and students. Your donation pays directly for the newspapers that go to the schools, enabling students to receive the paper even if the school budget does not allow it. NIE provides curriculum materials, classroom visits, tours of the newspaper, and teacher workshops to all participating schools. We match your contribution and we pay the balance!

Your business can participate as a major or minor sponsor for our NIE program. You can even designate which school districts you would like to sponsor! Our sponsors often receive pictures and cards from the classrooms they support!

Levels of sponsorship:

Class Champion - $100 - Sponsor deliver of newspapers once a week to one class FOR ONE SEMESTER

School Champion - $200 - Sponsor delivery of newspapers once a week to one class FOR THE WHOLE YEAR

Performance Plus Sponsor - $500 - ¸ of the 2" banner promotion spot for business logo across the bottom of Two full-color Performance Plus pages.

Honors - $1000 - Sponsorship of TWO full-color education pages with 2" banner promotion spots for business logo across bottom of each page, one per page.

Story Sponsor - $2000 - Exclusive sponsorship of NIE Serialized story, sponsor logo runs in twice weekly installments of store for approximately 6 to 8 weeks. Sponsor logo is on the blank keepsake books that each student takes home and logo is also on the Teacher's Guides.

KidScoop Sponsor - $2000 - Shared sponsorship of WEEKLY NIE page. Sponsor logo promoted on KIDSCOOP page EVERY week of the school year! *We have our sponsor for the 2003/2004 school year.
