Weekend Planner — cabaret
The Hilltowns are alive with the sound of music. Hailed by The Boston Globe as an “excellent cabaret/jazz singer,” “a sensitive interpreter of lyrics” and “a true conservator of the Great American Songbook,” chanteuse Shepley Metcalf will be traveling to Worthington Saturday where she’ll be joined by local singer-songwriters Joe Silberschmidt and Jim Kaminski for Hilltown Arts Alive Cabaret 2, an evening of music, dancing and dining set to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Worthington Historical Society at Worthington Four Corners (Route 112). $20 includes a catered spread of dishes prepared from food from local farms. There will a cash bar, with a free drink waiting for anyone who comes in fancy dress. The shindig is a benefit for both Hilltown Arts Alive and the Worthington Historical Society. Tickets at the door or call Jan Roby at 238-5593.
