Player of the Year Mike Miele, senior, South Hadley Season highlights: Miele propelled himself just short of a title this year in the Western Massachusetts Individual Tournament, falling in the finals against Longmeadow’s Ross Kamin 6-0, 6-1. Miele beat Northampton’s Francois Venne 6-0, 6-3 in the quarterfinals and Minnechaug’s Matt Gurski 6-2, 6-7, 7-5 in the semifinals. The Tigers’ No. 1 singles player had a 15-3 record in the regular season and led the team to the WMass Division 3 semifinal round.
