Whately will ask Town Meeting for money to fix historic window

WHATELY — When a microburst tore through southern Franklin County last month, it broke more than tree branches and power lines. According to Whately Town Administrator Mark Pruhenski, one of the Palladian-style windows on the facade of Whately’s historic Town Hall was smashed as well. Though the town was planning to replace some of the windows anyway since the Town Hall will be preserved and used as a community center once the new Town Offices in Whately’s Industrial Park are complete, Pruhenski said winter is just around the corner and a piece of plywood will likely not be enough to keep out the elements.
