Eighth-grade hurler John Ferrera allowed one hit over five innings for a second straight start and the Smith Academy baseball team thumped Franklin Tech 16-1 at home Wednesday.

Mike Molloy (two hits), David Longstreeth (one hit), and Keith Natale (three hits) each had three RBIs as the Falcons (10-1, 5-1 Tri-County) erupted for 12 hits.

Natale stole home in the third to give the Falcons a 4-1 lead.

Ferrera struck out one before making way for Molloy, who tossed two hitless innings of relief.

Kevin Banas had three hits, while Austin Rogers added two doubles, two walks and two runs.

Easthampton 7, Athol 2 — Austin Crow fired a complete-game one-hitter with seven strikeouts as the Eagles (3-3, 2-3 Hampshire) were victorious on the road.

Crow also had a two-run single in the three-run sixth inning.

Zach Lewis doubled and scored twice, while Chris Starcun added an RBI single and scored a run.

Westfield 2, Amherst Regional 1 — The throw from right fielder Ty Peake sailed right, pulling catcher Jose Cabrera up the line and allowing the Bombers to steal the win over the Hurricanes (7-2, 2-2 Valley) on a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the seventh.

Asher Young struck out seven and allowed two hits in the complete-game loss.

Jamie Carey (double) and Peake each had two hits, with Peake singling in the only Amherst run in the second.

Hampshire Regional 8, Sci-Tech 2 — Dan Baldwin struck out six, walked none and scattered three hits over five innings as the Raiders (4-4, 3-2 Bi-County) won in Westhampton.

Colton Garelli worked two innings of one-hit relief.

Scott Labrie went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Eddie Hagelstein had two hits and three RBIs for Hampshire, which took a 4-0 lead after two innings.

Nick Batchelder was 3-for-3 in the win.

Southwick 20, Holyoke Catholic 1 (5) — Tom Heavren doubled and scored the only run for the Gaels (1-7, 1-5 Bi-County) in the road defeat.

Dorian Guidi and Tyler Cox had the other hits for Catholic, while Evan Daigle brought in Heavren in the third on a fielder’s choice.

Monson 18, Gateway Regional 12 — The teams combined for 27 hits and 15 errors but the Gators (2-5) fell at home.

Ethan Gamble went 4-for-5 with three runs, while Justin Edinger had a three-run homer for Gateway, which had 15 hits and nine errors.

Calvin Dowers was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while seventh-grader Everett Warner collected his first varsity hit and RBI in the loss.

East Longmeadow 15, Belchertown 0 (5) — The first two batters of the game reached on walks for the Orioles (2-7), but they never had another baserunner in a no-hitter by Caleb Berard.

The undefeated Spartans (10-0) clinched a Division 1 tournament berth with the home win.

Mohawk Regional 2, Hopkins Academy 1 — Andrew Omer struck out six in a complete-game three-hit loss for the Golden Hawks (2-6, 1-4 Hampshire) in Buckland.

Evan Delaney had three hits and a pair of stolen bases for Hopkins. Tim Knightly, Pat Knightly, Zach Kelley, Nick Bernard and Omer each added a hit, while Brett Morrison knocked in the team’s lone run.

Turners Falls 1, Frontier Regional 0 — Peter Watroba was the tough-luck loser for the Red Hawks (4-2, 3-1 Hampshire) on the road.

The Indians (5-1, 3-1) took advantage of an error in the sixth inning to score the game’s lone run. Watroba allowed three hits and two walks while striking out six in the complete-game effort.

Rylan Baronas singled for the team’s lone hit.

Chicopee 7, South Hadley 2 — The Tigers (1-7) allowed six runs in the first two innings in the independent road loss.

Nate Flachs had an RBI single for South Hadley, while Liam Medina (hit) and Sean O’Connor each scored a run. Joe Ciolek picked up a pair of hits.
