DRIVE-THRU FLU CLINIC: Four West County Towns, Deerfield, Sunderland, Whately and Conway, will offer residents free flu shots and Flumist in a drive-thru clinic on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Yankee Candle Headquarters parking lot in Deerfield. To save time, the public can pre-register by downloading the form from their town websites and bringing a completed form to the clinic.

WINE TASTING BENEFIT: The Amherst Woman’s Club will hold “A Taste of South American Wines,” Friday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with Gary Mescon of Spirit Haus. There will be a variety of wines along with an hors d’oeuvres buffet, desserts and coffee, as well as special prizes raffles. Tickets are $25 at the door or available from AWC members. All proceeds benefit scholarships and community service programs. The Amherst Woman’s Club is located at 35 Triangle St. For more information call 687-5569 or 256-8203.


TAX HEARING: The Town of Cummington will hold a tax classification hearing for fiscal 2013 Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Select Board office, located at the Community House, 33 Main St. The public is invited to attend.


COMMUNITY PARTY: Northampton Community Television is having a party Saturday to celebrate its five-year anniversary at its current location in the High School at 380 Elm St. The public is invited from 2 to 4 p.m. to help celebrate. South Hadley

CONSERVATION MEETING: The South Hadley Conservation Commission will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Town Hall in room 205. The meeting place was incorrect in the meeting list printed in Monday’s Gazette.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY DINNER: The South Hadley Historical Society will meet on Oct. 22 at the Falls Congregational Church, 11 North Main St. A baked ham dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. for $15. Ken Williamson will give a talk about “Women’s Education in 1800: The Abby Wright School of Embroidery in South Hadley,” at 7:30 p.m. Non-members need to make a dinner reservation by calling John Zwisler at 533-5672.


BOOK SALE: The Friends of the Sunderland Library will hold a fall book and bake sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library, 20 School St. From 1 to 3 p.m., visitors can buy a grocery-sized bag of books for $7.
