Bids sought for Town Hall Annex renovation in Westhampton

WESTHAMPTON - Planned renovations aimed at making the Town Hall Annex on South Road more accessible to the elderly and people with disabilities are moving forward.

Bids are being sought until May 7 for the approximately $65,000 project, which will include replacement of aging ramps, rails and installation of bathrooms on the building’s first floor, according to Select Board Chairman John Shaw Jr.

Earlier this year, voters at a special Town Meeting approved using funds from free cash for the project.

“That building is now open five times a week so this is going to make a big difference,” Shaw said. “There will be a covered ramp and we’ll have bathrooms on the first floor. It’s just one more step forward.”

Bids will be opened at 11 a.m. May 7 in the Town Hall Annex.

Bidders can also request that documents be mailed to them by calling the town office, 203-3086, or emailing westhamptontownhall@comcast.com.
