Monday’s colleges: Amherst baseball runs away from Springfield College

The Amherst College baseball team erupted for eight runs in the sixth innings en route to a 10-2 victory over Springfield Monday in Springfield.

Conner Gunn was 3-for-4, while Brendon Harding (three RBIs, two runs), Quinn Saunders (two runs, RBI), Andrew Vandini (run, RBI) and Jonathan Ramirez (run, two RBIs) each had two hits.

John Cook struck out seven and scattered five hits and one run over six innings for the win.

Eric Kotin, Charles Nutter and Riley Streit each struck out one in one inning of relief each.
