One man dead, another wounded in Springfield stabbing
SPRINGFIELD — Springfield police are investigating the city’s ninth homicide of the year.
A department spokesman says officers responded to a home in the city’s North End at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday where they found a man in the back yard suffering from a stab wound under his arm.
The victim, identified as 38-year-old Sadeeq Khalid Allah, was taken to Baystate Medical Center by ambulance where he was pronounced dead at about 5 a.m.
A second person was taken to the hospital with a head wound, but is expected to survive. His name was not disclosed and police did not immediately say whether he was a suspect in the killing.
Police think the stabbing may be drug-related and the victim knew his assailant.
