Despondent man rescued from Connecticut River in South Hadley

SOUTH HADLEY — A 30-year-old man threatening to commit suicide was rescued from the Connecticut River Thursday night, according to South Hadley Police Chief David LaBrie. A 911 call came in at 9:32 p.m. from the man’s friend. LaBrie would not identify either of them.
