It was a festive night at Frontier Regional Friday.

Prior to the volleyball team’s varsity match against Agawam, the program retired No. 13 in honor of standout sisters Alyssa and Cassidy Stankowski.

“There was a pretty good crowd there,” Frontier coach Sean MacDonald said. “It was nice to have those two back in the gym together at a volleyball game.”

The Red Hawks then swept Agawam 3-0, improving to 12-2 with the 25-16, 25-17, 25-19 win.

The team also raised money for cancer research with the “Spike it for Life” campaign.

With the Stankowski sisters on the bench, the Red Hawks cruised past the Brownies.

Sarah Woodward had eight kills, while Emily Woodward and Kimmi Logan combined for 31 assists.

Rachel Cialek and Remi Quesnelle (five aces) each had six kills.

Easthampton 3, Wahconah 2 — The Eagles (5-8) came from behind to win 14-25, 25-21, 26-24, 21-25, and 15-6.

Ruthenee Nhem led the way for Easthampton with eight assists, three aces and three digs. Kate Avard played well with seven assists and three digs. Amanda Lambert had three aces and 10 digs, while Jordan Burt added seven kills and two aces.

Minnechaug 3, Amherst 2 — The Hurricanes (10-3, 2-3 Eastern) came up just short in a nail-biter at home, falling 19-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-21, and 15-17.

Cassie Long had 32 digs and four aces, while Justine Bohl added 40 assists and 23 digs for the Hurricanes.

Paige Darby played well with three kills and 12 blocks, and Shaya Shally-Jensen added 18 kills and two blocks.
