Victim identified in shooting outside Anthony's in South Hadley
SOUTH HADLEY — The victim in the fatal shooting outside Anthony’s Gentlemen’s Club early Friday morning has been identified as Jean Carlos Bones-Colon, 25, of Holyoke.
No arrest had been made in the case as of Sunday, Northwestern district attorney’s office spokeswoman Mary Carey said.
A second man was shot in the incident, but the injuries he received were not life-threatening, according to the district attorney’s office. He has not been identified.
The two men were shot outside the club at 500 New Ludlow Road just before 2 a.m. Friday. The incident was not a random act of violence, and there was no threat to public safety, said First Assistant District Attorney Steven Gagne.
South Hadley Police Chief David Labrie said that officers have responded to Anthony’s Gentlemen’s Club in the past.
“It is a bar, so we do get bar-related calls there,” he said. “We’ve never responded to a shooting there.”
The bar has been in operation at the site for 40 years, but the name has changed over the years, he said.
The club is in a commercial part of South Hadley near the Chicopee and Granby town ines. It is part of a chain of local strip clubs owned by Mardi Gras Entertainment Inc. that includes Mardi Gras, Lace, Fifth Alarm and Center Stage in Springfield.
