A big third quarter gave Hopkins a 64-41 road win over Smith Academy on Friday night. The Golden Eagles (14-1, 11-1 Hampshire) out scored the Falcons (7-7, 6-5) 16-3 to open the second half. Zach Kelley and Brett Morrison led Hopkins with 16 points apiece, while Spencer Butterfield and Sami Roe each added 10 in the win. Christian Smiarowski led Smith Academy with 14 points and David Longstreeth had eight in the loss. Amherst Regional 67, East Longmeadow 52 — The Hurricanes (12-1, 5-0 Valley Wheel) trailed by 14 early in the second quarter before dominating the rest of the way in the road win. …

DEERFIELD — The first draft of the Frontier Regional School District budget for the year beginning July 1 shows no increase over this year, which district administrators said will be achieved mainly through staff retirements or layoffs.
