The Belchertown girls tennis first doubles team of Morgan O’Connor and Angela Grabazs won a pair of tiebreakers as the Orioles upset Palmer 3-2 at Ludlow Tennis Club on Friday and qualified for the Western Massachusetts Division 3 Tournament. Friday was a good day on the home diamonds for Smith Academy. The softball team kept its hope alive of making the postseason for the first time since 2002 with a 4-1 victory over rival Hopkins Academy. After striking out 23 Taconic batters Friday, Frontier Regional pitcher Krystel Enko fired a six-inning no-hitter against Mahar Regional, as the Red Hawks cruised to a 5-0 win Wednesday in South Deerfield. About 350 people attended the annual Health and Safety Fair held Thursday at the Northampton Senior Center. The event offered information about the services and resources — including respite, adult day programs, and in-home care — that are available in this area.
