Northampton

BAND FEST: Musicians and conductors from more than 10 area community bands will perform a free concert at the annual community band festival. The music will include “Joy Revisited” by Frank Ticheli, in honor of those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The festival is set for Sunday, Sept. 8, at 3 p.m. at Look Park’s Pines Theater. The rain site is Northampton High School. The concert is free, but there is a $7 vehicle entry fee into Look Park.

HOSPICE RUN: The VNA & Hospice of Cooley Dickinson is will hold its second Hospice Meadows Run 5K road race and two-mile walk Saturday, Sept. 28. The course begins at the Three County Fairgrounds and runs through the Meadows. The Expandable Brass Band will play. Download registration form or submit online registration by going to www.vnaandhospice.org/5k. Proceeds benefit patients who receive end-of-life care through the VNA & Hospice of Cooley Dickinson.

Hadley

PITCH LEAGUE: The Hadley American Legion Pitch League begins its season Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Olde Hadley American Legion Post 271, 162 Russell St. The league is open to men and women. Sign-ups must be complete Sept. 22. For information, call Tom Stolarski at 549-6996 or the Legion at 586-9699.

Southampton

COMMUNITY CHORUS: The Southampton Community Chorus begins its fall season Sept. 11 at the Southampton Congregational Church at 212 College Highway.

Rehearsals are every Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. New singers are welcome, no auditions necessary.
