In its must-win regular-season finale, the Hampshire Regional baseball team survived nine walks and a pair of rain delays by allowing no hits in a 7-4 home victory over Monson that clinched a Western Massachusetts Division 2 Tournament berth.

Doug Laroche pitched the first 41∕3 innings and was followed by Scott Labrie. Seventh-grader Matt York worked two hitless frames to earn a save.

Nick Batchelder had a two-run triple and scored a run, Cody Payson tripled and scored, and Colin Cichy had two hits with an RBI and a run. Labrie (run) added a pair of hits, with Laroche chipping in a hit and a run.

Easthampton 10, Pioneer Regional 1 — Needing a win in one of its final three games to secure a berth in the Western Massachusetts Division 3 Tournament, the Eagles erased any suspense early and cruised past the Panthers in Northfield.

Austin Crow needed just 79 pitches to sew up the complete-game win. He allowed two hits and no walks while striking out six. He helped himself with two hits and four RBIs.

A two-run home run to right in the fourth inning highlighted Chris Starcun’s four-hit, four-run day. Zach Lewis (three runs, RBI) and Alan Gormley (RBI) each had two hits for the Eagles (9-7, 7-7 Hampshire).

Smith Academy 14, Franklin Tech 0 — Mike Molloy, John Ferrera and Keith Natale combined on a three-hit shutout for the Falcons (16-3, 8-3).
