Area police news: Crimes and arrests
■ Thomas P. Olstead, 67, who provided an address as the streets of Northampton, was arrested Tuesday at 12:43 a.m. at a Hadley hotel on a warrant.
∎ Mandi Leigh Lafi, 34, of 2 Dartmouth St., Apt. D, was arrested at home Monday at 10:45 a.m. on a warrant.
∎ Two people were arrested July 9 at 6:51 p.m. near 97 Union St. after police saw them traveling in a car that had been reported stolen in East Longmeadow.
The driver, Joselito Rosario Jr., 18, who told police he was homeless, was arrested on charges of receiving a stolen motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. A passenger, Ernesto Reyes, 18, of Holyoke, was arrested on two warrants.
■ Peter Grossi, 24, of 27 Montague Road, Apt. 14, Amherst, was arrested about 10:47 p.m. Monday on Pleasant Street on charges of domestic assault and battery and domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (wall) after allegedly grabbing a woman and shoving her up against a wall during an argument.
■ Rey Jomar Hernandez, 21, of 491 Bridge Road, Apt. 311, Florence, was arrested about 8:49 p.m. Monday at home on a charge of domestic assault and battery after allegedly grabbing a woman by the hair and punching her in the shoulder during an argument.
■ Matthew Dickinson Joseph, 36, of 267 North Main St., Florence, was arrested about 3:04 p.m. Monday at home on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (door) for allegedly slamming a door and striking another man in the shoulder with it during an argument.
■ Omar Marrero, 27, of Holyoke, was arrested about 9:15 a.m. Monday at the Hampshire County Courthouse on Gothic Street on a Northampton District Court warrant related to charges of intimidation of a witness, threatening to commit a crime, kidnapping and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
■ Jenison Retzlaff, 39, of Greenfield, was arrested on Bray Court at 8 p.m. Monday on a warrants related to a probation violation and a charge of leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage.
