Regional Transition Towns Film Festival seeks submissions
FILM FESTIVAL: Organizers of this fall’s Pioneer Valley Transition Towns Film Festival are seeking submissions of locally made short films that focus on sustainability topics such as climate change, farming and transportation — including from young filmmakers.
The deadline for entries in the festival, to be held in October at Greenfield Community College, is Sept. 27.
Submissions must be in DVD format. There are competitive and non-competitive entry categories. All qualifying films will be aired on local public access TV stations.
Northampton Community Television is one of the event sponsors. In an email message to city school families recently, NCTV Executive Director Al Williams encouraged teens to submit films to the festival.
“This could be a great summer project for Northampton youth,” Williams wrote, adding that NCTV will provide training and equipment to local festival applicants.
Other organizations sponsoring the October film event include the towns of Northfield, Amherst, Wendell, Greenfield and Pelham and the Pioneer Valley Institute.
Detailed information about submission guidelines is available online at www.transitionnorthfieldma.org.
