MIDDLEFIELD — A New York man drowned over Labor Day weekend near Glendale Falls in Middlefield, according to the Northwestern district attorney’s office. No foul play is suspected.
Eduardo Adolfo Echavarria, 44, of Corona, N.Y., a borough of Queens, drowned in a “fast moving secondary branch of Glendale Falls,” on Sunday around 3 p.m., the DA’s office said in a statement. Echavarria and family members had been guests at a private residence in Middlefield when the accident occurred. Middlefield police and firefighters along with Massachusetts State Police responded to the scene.
