Troopers help hikers lost on Mount Tom

State police Trooper Reid Bagley said the hikers called for help at 12:45 p.m., after they realized they were turned around. A dispatcher used GPS information from one of the hikers’ smartphones to pinpoint their location on a map and guide them out of the woods.

The hikers were told to continue walking on the trail until they reached Reservation Road — the main road through Mount Tom — near Bray Lake. Once there, troopers from the state police gave the hikers a ride back to their car. The women were not injured, Bagley said.

■ William N. Blais, 21, of 41 South St., Apt. 23, was arrested at home Thursday at 1:03 a.m. on a warrant.

■ Shawn Tobacco-Clapp, 22, of 40 Terrace View, was arrested on Pleasant Green Wednesday at 4 p.m. on a warrant.

Northampton

■ Ryan Kevin Keilty, 24, of 21 Longview Drive, Florence, was arrested about 2:16 a.m. Thursday at Clement Street and Ladd Avenue on a Northampton District Court warrant related to a disorderly conduct charge, police said.

■ Police are investigating a reported theft of an unlocked bicycle, valued at about $1,000, from near the municipal building on Main Street about 12:43 p.m. Wednesday.

■ Raymond Leonard Collins, 31, of 421 North Main St., Florence, was arrested about 10:16 a.m. Wednesday at the VA medical center in Leeds on three warrants from Barnstable and Plymouth district courts.
