Area police news

Amherst

■ Deidreann M. Dennis, 27, of 760 Riverglade Drive, Unit A, was arrested Tuesday at 12:24 a.m. on East Pleasant Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle to endanger and possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

■ Lauren Piotrowski, 36, of 64 Morgan Circle, was driving on Morgan Circle Sunday at 10:35 p.m. when she lost control of her car, striking a parked vehicle on the opposite side of the street, police said.

Piotrowski, who told police she had looked at her cellphone just prior to the crash, suffered a head injury and was transported by Amherst Fire Department ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, where she was treated and released, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Her vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.

■ Andrew W. Wooldridge, 25, of 10 Washington Place, Northampton, was arrested Sunday at 3:52 a.m. on East Pleasant Street on a charge of disorderly conduct after repeatedly banging on the door to the residence, police said.

■ Briana Marie Howell, 21, of Ware, was arrested Sunday at 1:23 a.m. on East Pleasant Street on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

■ Zachary Lane, 26, of 53 Springfield Road, Unit 1, Belchertown, was arrested Sunday at 12:16 a.m. outside an Amherst business on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

■ Police are investigating break-ins to a Potwine Lane home and a Snell Street home reported Friday at 6:51 p.m. and Saturday at 5:58 p.m. In the first incident, a computer was stolen and the home was entered by force through a rear door. In the second break-in, items were scattered inside the home by the intruder and jewelry may have stolen after entry was gained through a back door.

■ Jeremy Edward Theriault, 26, of Athol, was arrested Saturday at 2:16 a.m. on Kellogg Avenue on a charge of larceny under $250 after he attempted to steal a bicycle left outside a business, police said.

■ Kurt Abbott Russavage, 20, of 4 Edgehill Place, was arrested Friday at 9:16 p.m. on South East Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle to endanger.

Belchertown

■ Adrienne A. Hennessey, 49, of 221 Stebbins St., was arrested May 7 at 12:36 p.m. at a Belchertown home on a charge of assault and battery.

■ Antonino Martin, 21, of Springfield, was arrested May 7 at 10:15 a.m. on State Street on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.

Easthampton

■ Lynn LaFreniere, 40, whose address was listed as the streets of Northampton, was arrested at CVS on Northampton Street Friday at 6:17 p.m. on two warrants.

■ Dale Mulholland, 20, of 334 Main St., Apt. 2, was arrested on Union Street Thursday at 11:49 p.m. on charges of disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

■ James D. Bushey, 41, of 13 Beyer Drive, was arrested Thursday at 9:03 p.m. on Pleasant Street on a warrant.

■ Daniel F. Cummings, 57, of 14 Federal St., was arrested Thursday at 11:54 a.m. on Prospect Street on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Northampton

■ Rachel A. Maiore, 44, of Chesterfield Road, Leeds, was arrested at home Tuesday at 1:56 a.m. on charges of domestic assault and battery and intimidating a witness. Police said Maiore punched her husband in the back of the head and threw his cellphone into the sink during an argument.

■ Police are investigating a report Monday of the theft of more than $5,000 worth of steel pipes over the past month from a loading dock at Northampton Crossing on King Street.

■ Police received a report Monday at 7:38 p.m. that someone stole a car parked at New South Apartments.

■ Police received a report Monday at 1:33 p.m. that someone took a Nook electronic book reader worth $300 from a backpack left on the school playground at R.K. Finn Ryan Road School.

■ Ralph Rivera, 33, of Cabot Street, Holyoke, was arrested Sunday at 11:26 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and battery in connection with an incident at Northampton Lodging on Pleasant Street. Police said Rivera threw some change in his brother’s face during an argument.

■ Thomas Matthew Barnes Jr., 49, of Ryan Road, Florence, was arrested at 7:25 p.m. Sunday on a charge of domestic assault in connection with a disturbance at his home. Police said Barnes grabbed his wife’s crutches away from her and threatened her during an argument.
