Police say protests peaceful of PVPA production 'The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told'

The Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School performed “The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told,” a comedic retelling of biblical stories from a gay-positive point of view.

The play was performed at the Academy of Music in Northampton.

South Hadley Police Chief David J. LaBrie said there had been complaints about the production of the play, but he said the complaints were about the content of the play itself and were not directed at the school nor to anyone involved in this production.

Northampton Police Capt. Scott Savino said last week no extra Northampton officers would be assigned as security, but the department was aware of possible protests and officers would be available if needed to maintain order.
