Authorities release no new information about man hospitalized after Friday night fall from parking garage
NORTHAMPTON — Police today may release the identity of the man who was hospitalized after he apparently fell from the roof of the E. John Gare parking garage about 7:30 p.m., Friday.
According to police, the man was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, where he was listed in critical condition.
Information about his condition was not available from the hospital Sunday evening.
According to police, a passer-by heard the man hit the ground and saw him in the middle of Brewster Court, near the intersection with Old South Street on the garage’s south side and called police.
According to a story published in the weekend edition of the Gazette, the fall from the top of the garage is about 40 feet. At least two people have died as a result of falls from the garage since 2007.
