Weekend Planner: Theater

“The Really Big Show,” the Northampton Arts Council’s annual program of vaunted variety acts, is promising another fantastic and eclectic lineup this year. Set to be introduced onto the stage of the Academy of Music on Sunday by Monte Belmonte (of 93.9 The River) as your hunchbacked host are Michelle Brooks-Thompson, winner of Valley Idol and a contestant on NBC’s “The Voice”; the Catalyst Dancers and Chaos Theory Dance; sensational yo-yo master Daniel Dietz; Mira Bartók, New York Times bestselling author of “The Memory Palace”; local rock legends The Sun Parade; the dog-human tricks of Jake and Jim; award-winning 10-year-old classical guitarist Kayden Beham; street performer Sophie Crafts; the Screaming-With-Pleasure Jugglers; and of course The Really Big Show Orchestra.

The excitement begins at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 advance; $10 at the door. 800-838-3006 or northamptonartscouncil.org
