Five jury seats left to fill in Cara Lee Rintala murder trial

At the end of a third day of jury selection Thursday, 11 jurors had been seated. Sixteen jurors must be chosen before the trial can begin.

Selection began Monday. The court will have 12 jurors and four alternates on the trial, which may last up to four weeks.

The state court system does not summon jurors on Fridays and court will not be in session Monday due to the Presidents Day holiday. Jury selection is scheduled to resume Tuesday.

Rintala, 46, is accused of murdering her wife, Annamarie Cochrane Rintala, 37, in the couple’s Barton Street home in Granby on March 29, 2010.

Cara Rintala faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted.
