Greg and Naomi Badach of Easthampton announce the engagement of their daughter, Cynthia L. Badach of Easthampton, to William Messer of Northampton. Messer is the son of Timothy and Eileen Messer of Northampton.

Badach is a mathematics teacher at Hampshire Regional High School in Westhampton. A 2007 graduate of Hampshire Regional, she received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Elms College in Chicopee in 2011.

Messer is a firefighter with the Amherst Fire Department and a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. A 2006 graduate of Northampton High School, he received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2010.

A June 2014 wedding is planned.
