Two cars collide after one stops for deer crossing, one driver sent to hospital for minor injuries
NORTHAMPTON — A sudden stop for deer crossing Prince Street apparently led to a car accident that sent one driver to the hospital Sunday night.
According to police, about 6:22 p.m., Tracy Helen Foley of Florence stopped suddenly for a group of deer crossing the road.
The driver of the car traveling behind her, Andre Barnes, 18, was unable to stop in time and struck Foley’s car, police said.
Foley was taken to Cooley Dickinson Hospital, where she was treated and released, according to a hospital spokeswoman. Barnes was not injured.
Both vehicles were damaged and towed from the scene, police said. No citations were issued, according to police.
