Northampton police log

■ Michael M. Briggs, 23, Shrewsbury was arrested Sunday at 1:49 a.m. and charged with operating under the influence and failure to use his lights. According to police, an officer stopped Briggs near Kathy’s Diner on Strong Avenue after he saw him driving without his lights on; the officer then noticed a strong smell of alcohol in the car and gave Briggs a sobriety test, which he failed.

■ Sharlene Jenkins, 50, 34 Michelman Ave. Apt. 5 was arrested Saturday at 8:29 p.m. and charged with disturbing the peace. According to police, Jenkins was creating a disturbance in the hallway of her building, and she began kicking doors when officers asked her to calm down.

■ Nicholas Brumley, 22, address listed as the streets of Northampton, and Elijah Snow, 22, 80 Damon Rd. Apt. 4102, were arrested Saturday at 4:24 p.m. on the Nagle Walkway and charged with violating the city’s open container law.

■ Kia Aoki, 57, 241 Jackson Street, Apt. 4C, was arrested Saturday at 3:25 p.m. on a warrant for failure to appear for jury duty.

■ Cyrus Fisher, 28, Springfield was arrested Saturday at 1:39 a.m. and charged with three counts of possession of a class B substance. According to police, officers went to the Pride gas station on King Street for a report that a man might have overdosed in his car. Officers found Fisher asleep in a car, and when they knocked on the window, Fisher woke up and opened the door. At that point, officers noticed Fisher had a small plastic bag with a white substance in his pocket, which turned out to be powdered cocaine. A subsequent search of Fisher and his car uncovered other small bags of rock cocaine and PCP, police said.

■ Heather Anne Wholley, 38, address listed as the streets of Northampton, was arrested Friday at 11:21 p.m. on outstanding warrants from Palmer for assault and battery on a police officer.

■ Dennis Dextraze, 58, 138 Main St. Apt. B, Haydenville, was arrested Friday at 10:05 p.m. and charged with operating under the influence and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. According to police, officers found Dextraze in his car on Spring Street after he had run out of gas and was stopped in the street.

■ Brenna Totty, 38, address listed as the streets of Northampton, was arrested Friday at 8:46 p.m. and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. According to police, officers stopped Totty on Pine Street for failure to signal and discovered she did not have a driver’s license.
