Springfield man to be summoned on charges related to credit-card fraud, other area police news
∎ A 28-year-old Springfield man will be summoned to court on charges of receiving a lost credit card, committing credit-card fraud over $250 and committing credit-card fraud under $250, police said. The charges against the man resulted from a 2013 incident and subsequent investigation that detectives completed Monday.
∎ Padraic J. Winston, 45, of 10 Belchertown Road, Unit 3, was arrested at 7:31 a.m. Sunday at his home on a charge by Lenox police of violating a restraining order.
∎ Scott A. Urban, 22, of 69 Moody Bridge Road, Hadley, was arrested at 12:48 a.m. Sunday on Lincoln Avenue on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle to endanger and operating a motor vehicle without headlights.
∎ Donna M. Cote, 51, of 179 Chicopee St., Granby, was arrested at 11:36 p.m. Saturday on Belchertown Road on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle to endanger, speeding and operating a motor vehicle with no license in her possession.
∎ Justin Henry Rivers, 20, of Fitchburg, was arrested at 1:58 a.m. Saturday on North East Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle to endanger and failure to stop/yield.
∎ Jamie D. Vermes, 32, of 63 North Washington St., was arrested at 10:17 p.m. Friday on North Liberty Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, speeding and refusing to identify as the operator of the vehicle and on a warrant.
∎ Louis Capone, 20, of 244 Amherst St., Granby, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Eastern Hampshire District Court on a charge of resisting arrest and on a warrant.
∎ Kelly M. Russell, 23, of 154 Amherst Road, Unit 1, was arrested at 9:11 p.m. Thursday at a Cedarwood Apartments home on a warrant.
∎ Mandi L. Lafi, 35, of Springfield, was arrested on Dartmouth Street at 10:27 p.m. Sunday on a warrant.
∎ Kristina Clark, 29, of 100 Everett St., will be summoned to court to face charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failing to stop or yield after police allege that she caused an accident at 10:26 a.m. Sunday that injured another driver.
Leonard Yell, 61, of 325 Main St., Apt. D, was treated and released from Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, according to a hospital spokeswoman. No other injuries were reported.
Police said Clark’s vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign at the end of Parsons Street and hit the side of Yell’s car which was traveling south on East Street. Police said Yell’s car was pushed into a car driven by Anthony Pighetti, 49, of Wilbraham, in which there was a 16-year-old passenger. Pighetti was stopped in the northbound lane of East Street, waiting to turn left onto Parsons Street.
∎ Jonathan M. Hough, 32, of 147 Pleasant St., Granby, was arrested on Glendale Street at 2:28 a.m. Sunday on a charge of larceny under $250 after callers reported a man taking a construction barrel from a road work site and putting it in the back of his truck.
∎ Michael Dowland, 18, of 10 Emerald Place, was arrested at his home at 1:39 a.m. Saturday on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police said Dowland had struck a Goggins Real Estate Agency sign and a wooden post earlier that morning in his car, which showed evidence of the damage.
∎ Andrea Velthouse, 28, of 66½ Maple St., Apt. N, was arrested at her home at 11 p.m. Friday on two warrants.
∎ An 11-year-old boy was arrested at 8:24 p.m. Friday at 10 Sunset Ave., on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon (a shoe with cleats) and assault on a family member after he allegedly kicked a relative.
∎ Dalton Andross, 22, of Ludlow, was arrested on Amherst Street at 2:05 a.m. Thursday on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and speeding.
∎ Sergio Enrique Rubio Castillo, 31, of 157 Bridge St., Northampton, was arrested at 5:43 p.m. Saturday on Route 9 on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and possession of several fake identifications.
∎ Nicholas E. Devine, 21, of 62 Comins Road, was arrested at 12:19 p.m. Friday at a Hadley home on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
∎ Police received a report of a locked 2003 Chevy Malibu being taken from Walnut Street at 10:39 p.m. Monday.
∎ Publio R. Berrios, 36, of Holyoke, was arrested about 10:15 p.m. Monday on Old Springfield Road on a warrant issued by Northampton District Court on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection sticker after officers responded for a noise complaint.
∎ Police received a report at 8:38 p.m. Monday that loose change had been taken from two unlocked vehicles parked on Market Street.
∎ Edwin A Guzman, 33, of Springfield, and Edward Holmes, 34, of Lowell, were arrested at 11:42 p.m. Sunday on Conz Street, each on multiple charges.
Guzman was arrested on charges of possession of a Class B drug (ecstasy) with intent to distribute subsequent offense, conspiracy to violate drug laws, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked license.
Holmes, a passenger in the car, was arrested on charges of possession of a Class B drug (ecstasy) subsequent offense, and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
According to police, officers responded for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in front of the Walter Salvo House, saw marijuana in plain view in the vehicle, which prompted a search that recovered six bags of ecstasy and about $900 in cash.
∎ Monique Benoit, 20, of 687 Federal St., Belchertown, was arrested at 4:37 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Mount Tom Road and Atwood Drive on a charge of being a person under 21 in possession of liquor. She was stopped for a license plate violation, police said.
