Woman rescued from river after Jet Ski crash
NORTHAMPTON — A woman was taken to Baystate Medical Center at around 6 p.m. Sunday after being injured when she was thrown from a Jet Ski on the Connecticut River in the area of the rope swing off Hockanum Road.
Northampton Deputy Fire Chief Stephen Vanasse said the personal watercraft did not hit anything that caused her to be thrown off.
“Just a mishap, I guess,” he said.
The woman, whom Vanasse did not identify, was extricated from the riverbank. Her injuries were not life-threatening, he said.
The accident is being investigated by the Massachusetts Environmental Police.
