Leverett co-op to hold member appreciation day Saturday
LEVERETT — The Leverett Village Co-op will host a member appreciation event featuring games, live music, food and drinks Saturday between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
According to Paul Rosenberg, the co-op’s general manager, the event is held multiple times each year as a way of giving back to the community and co-op members who help support the store all year long.
“It’s a fun event,” Rosenberg said. “There’s a playground area, so it’s very kid-friendly. Our member-owners will receive 10 percent off their groceries, and there will be new art up on the walls, too.”
Children’s activities start around 11 a.m., with face painting, juggling and storybook readings. Later in the afternoon, the event will feature a craft beer and wine tasting, with samples offered from local brewers such as Brewmaster Jack of Northampton and Lefty’s Brewing Co. of Greenfield.
Food samples from the co-op’s bakery and deli will be available, and local singer and songwriter Joseph Cohen will perform.
“The event is open to the public, and we encourage newcomers to join the co-op and become a part of our very diverse community of member-owners, local farmers and craftsmen,” said Corina Barrett, the co-op’s membership coordinator.
