Amherst

Gia Biagi, daughter of Robert and Carol Biagi of Amherst, has been appointed Chief of Staff of the Chicago Park District, Chicago, Ill. Biagi is a graduate of Amherst High School, the University of Michigan, and the University of Illinois in Chicago.

William Dunn of Amherst, a junior majoring in robotics engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, recently completed an intensive hands-on research project in Costa Rica titled “Improving Energy Efficiency in Central America and the Caribbean Through the Expansion of the EnerG Tech Investment.” Dunn was required to complete a research-driven, professional-level project that addresses an important societal need or issue.

Justin Gilmore of Amherst has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Roger Williams University, Bristol, R.I..

Steffen Herter of Amherst has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn.

Brianna Leonard of Amherst has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic, Conn.

Caroline Lord of Amherst earned first place at the American Legion Oratorical competition district finals on Jan. 19. Caroline, a junior at Stoneleigh-Burnham School in Greenfield, wrote and memorized five speeches about the Constitution for this national competition. Caroline has been a member of Stoneleigh-Burnham Debate and Public Speaking Society for two years and is currently co-president of the society.

Aaron Miller of Amherst has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at The College of New Jersey, Ewing, N.J.

Julia Sillen, daughter of Andrew Sillen and Tina Barsby of Amherst, has been named to the fall semester dean’s list of Macalester College, St. Paul, Minn. She is a graduate of Amherst Regional High School.

Hadley

Nathan Bombardier, son of Pamela Bombardier of Hadley and Glen Bombardier of Florence, has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at the University of Notre Dame College of Science in Notre Dame, Ind. He is a graduate of Hopkins Academy.

Kyle Pratt, son of Candice and Frederick Pratt of Hadley, has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Hartwick College, Oneonta, N.Y.
