Question: Where can you hear arias from Mozart’s “Cosi fan tutti” and his unfinished opera “Zaide,” together with scenes from Verdi’s “Don Carlo”and “Otello,” along with duets and trios from Leonard Bernstein’s “West Side Story,” plus cabaret songs by William Bolcom and selections from Paul Bowles’ cycle of “Blue Mountain Ballads”?

Answer: At North Hall in Huntington where the North Hall Arts Festival will open its season this weekend with its 4th annual Opera & Song Showcase.

Including soprano Tammy Tyburczy, tenor Antonio Abate and baritone Christopher DeVage, the North Hall Opera Ensemble (pictured) will perform Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the hall at 40 Searle Rd. (off Route 66) in Huntington. In conjunction with the concert, the North Hall Gallery will show an exhibit of opera-inspired masks and sculpture by Beckie Kravetz, whose work has been featured at the MetOpera Shop at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City.

Admission to either concert is $15 general seating, students free. Early arrival recommended. A meet-the-artist reception will be held during intermission.
