Valley Views: Local photographers aim their cameras outdoors

Quabbin Reservoir, Belchertown

Photograph and text by Dot Barnard of North Hatfield

I had the opportunity recently to join a small group of photographers at the Quabbin Reservoir. The temperature was 28 degrees when I arrived at the Visitor’s Center where we were meeting. We spent the next few hours winding our way through the property on one of the main roads that threads its way around the water. When we stopped in the area of this path, I just had to capture the full view. The sun cast long shadows on the trail and helped illuminate the colorful leaves still clinging to the treetops. It was a perfect autumn morning.

I captured this image with my tripod-mounted DSLR camera and a wide-angle lens.
