The Granby baseball team rallied over the final three innings and overcame a four-run deficit to beat Smith Academy 5-4 in Granby Monday.

Noah Parent’s walk-off single off reliever David Longstreeth plated Andrew Strycharz with the winning run for the Rams (3-2).

Andy Gifford led off the seventh with a single and took single on a Strycharz single. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch. Following an unsuccessful squeeze, Parent came through with his hit.

Trailing 4-0, Jake Whitacre hit a two-out, two-run single in the fifth. Zach Funk then came through with a two-run single in the sixth.

Gifford earned the win. He struck out four and walked five.

The Falcons (7-1) scored two runs in the first on four walks, a hit batter and one hit. A Longstreeth triple in the fifth gave Smith a 4-0 lead.

Keith Natale struck out three over five innings. Mike Molloy took the loss in relief.

Lee 6, Gateway Regional 5 — After taking an early three-run lead, the Gators (1-2) allowed six unanswered runs before their comeback attempt fell short at home.

Calvin Dowers boomed an RBI triple and scored two runs for Gateway. Justin Edinger went 2-for-4 with two runs, while Geoff Sobotka drove in a pair.

Curtis Dowers allowed five runs on five hits with five strikeouts in six innings of work.

Softball

Hampshire Regional 13, Athol 2 — Eighth-graders Danielle McGan (three RBIs) and Paige Sullivan hit back-to-back home runs in the fifth inning as the Raiders (4-0) earned a blowout win on the road.

Marissa McCarthy went 3-for-5 with an RBI, while Bri Weltlich had two hits and an RBI.

Ashlee McGan pitched the first five innings, allowing just one hit with two walks and four strikeouts.

Greenfield 4, Hopkins 1(8) — Despite a solid effort by starting pitcher Allie Leclair, the Golden Hawks (2-1, 2-1 Franklin) came up short in Hadley.

In eight innings, she gave up three earned runs, four hits with six strikeouts.

Kaci Kokoski scored the team’s only run in the fourth inning on a passed ball.

Putnam 10, Smith Vocational 2 — Madeline Spencer-Orrell struck out 11 in a complete game, but the Vikings (2-2, 2-2 Tri-County) were hurt by eight errors in the road loss.

Spencer-Orrell gave up four hits over six innings, and also had a single and scored a run.

Emily Michalenko and Nashaelid Cintron-Martinez picked up the other hits for Smith Voke, while Rita Whitney had an RBI and Prescilla Sepulveda scored once.

Tantasqua 13, Amherst Regional 11 — Cassie Long hit two home runs and had six RBIs as part of a four-hit game, but the Hurricanes (1-4) fell by a walk-off two-run home run.

Mathena Morrisey walked five and struck out four, but was hurt by eight errors.

Jazzy Moonstone (hit, walk) had an RBI and scored three runs.

East Longmeadow 2, Belchertown 0 — The Orioles (4-2) were held to three hits in the home loss.

Hannah Flink, Mackenzie Yelle and starting pitcher Samantha Manitsas all registered hits in the loss.

Northampton 14, Central 1 (5) — Nadine Harris went 3-for-4 with five RBIs and a run scored as the Blue Devils (3-1) cruised on the road.

Kristen Gross (three runs), Mary Greco (2-for-4, two runs), and Emilie Baldwin (1-for-2, two runs, two RBI) also had big days for Hamp.

Boys lacrosse

Amherst Regional 11, Minnechaug 6 — The Hurricanes (3-2, 1-2 Valley Wheel) scored eight of 11 goals in the second half to pick up the road victory.

Kieran Presley (two assists) and Melvin Espinosa-Rosa scored three goals apiece for Amherst, while Isaac Bass and Luke Allen each had two tallies and Donovan Riley added a goal.

Nick Johnson assisted three times with Drew Kosloski adding a pair. Will Barstow made 11 saves in goal.

South Hadley 14, West Springfield 0 — Tom Dowd had three goals and one assist, while Tom Crotty (assist), Sam Duda (assist), Evan Marcus (three assists), TJ Fitzell and Ryan Dickinson each had two goals as the Tigers (7-1) rolled at home.

Pat Fitzgerald scored one goal, Connor Quinn added one assist and Jake Lesieur made five saves in net.

Girls lacrosse

East Longmeadow 10, Amherst Regional 4 — Sarah Mangels had two goals and two assists but the Hurricanes (1-4, 0-3 Valley Wheel) fell on the road.

Meghan Sharick, Leah Goldman (assist) and Eliza Fishman (assist) each added a goal.

Freshman Katie Dunn recorded 13 saves.

West Springfield 15, Holyoke Catholic 6 — Liz Cavanaugh scored two goals in the home loss for the Gaels (2-1, 2-1 Valley).

Rita Hannoush scored a goal and recorded an assist, while Jessica Cavanaugh, Taylor Leclair and Kylee Windyka each added a tally. Lexi Neffinger and Reile Plante each chipped in with an assist.

Katie Klejna made 13 saves.
