Easthampton home invasion investigated

— Police are investigating a report of a violent break-in at 21 Wright St. that occurred Tuesday at 8:36 p.m. The female resident told police she entered her home and found there was someone inside. The intruder then struck her over the head with a bottle, she said.

The intruder had fled by the time police arrived, and the victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield where she was treated with non-life-threatening injuries, Police Sgt. Bruce Nicol said.

Police could not find any signs of forced entry. They do not have any suspects, but the incident is still under investigation, Nicol said.

Amherst

∎ Misty R. Hall, 27, of 30 Gatehouse Road, Unit 103, was arrested Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. on College Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and failure to stay within marked lanes after the vehicle she was driving crossed the center line and struck the curb, police said.

∎ Stefan Ward-Wheten, 24, of 902 Florence Road, Northampton, was arrested Thursday at 1:28 a.m. on North Pleasant Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, operating a motor vehicle with no inspection sticker and operating a motor vehicle with malfunctioning brake lights, police said.

∎ Carissa Marie Dagenais, 22, of Chicopee was arrested Friday at 2:32 a.m. on Main Street on charges of assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest, police said. Police officers were providing Dagenais a courtesy escort to the police station when she became combative, but no officers were injured, police said.

∎ Lance Forrest, 18, and Jake A. Esposito, 19, both of Madison, Conn., were arrested Friday at 12:55 a.m. on South Pleasant Street on charges of being minors in possession of alcohol, police said.

Forrest was also arrested on a charge of possession of a class E substance, Ritalin, police said.

∎ Mary E. Methot, 50, of 135 Packardville Road, Pelham, was arrested Thursday at 10:05 p.m. on Pelham Road on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle with a lights violation, police said.

Easthampton

∎ Two residents of 47 West St. were arrested on charges of assault and battery Tuesday at 1:50 p.m. after they got into a fight about the television. Corrie Cummings, 36, told police that Linda Russell, 61, punched him in the back, and Russell told police Cummings grabbed her by the wrist.

∎ Bonny L. Lamontagne, 38, of 5 Princeton Ave. was arrested at her home Sunday at 8:36 p.m. on charges of assault and battery after police said she punched her boyfriend in the mouth.

∎ Paul J. Kuta, 52, of 47 West St. was arrested at his home Friday at 6:03 p.m. on charges of assault and battery and violating an abuse prevention order after he allegedly pushed one of his tenants to the ground.

∎ Matthew J. Bricault, 26, 34 Campbell Drive was arrested on Maple Street Friday at 2:17 a.m. on charges of assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

Police Sgt. Bruce Nicol said officers found Bricault throwing trash cans into the street and asked him to stop. When he would not, they arrested him and he struggled with police. During booking, he spit on a police officer, Nicol said.

∎ A resident of 49 Huckleberry Lane reported Dec. 19 at 7:09 p.m. that silverware valued at about $4,500 was taken from the home. Police are investigating.

Hadley

∎ Corey L. Brida, 33, of 7 Straits Road, Hatfield, and Lynn A. Lafreniere, 40, of 3 Laura Ave., Easthampton, were arrested Thursday at 5:14 p.m. at the Wal-mart at Mountain Farms Mall on charges of larceny over $250 after allegedly leaving the store without paying for $432.04 in merchandise, police said.

Lafreniere was also arrested on a charge of receiving stolen property under $250 after $97.99 in unpaid merchandise from Target at Hampshire Mall was found in her vehicle, police said.

William E Wanczyk Jr., 21, of Springfield was arrested at the same time and place on charges of disorderly conduct and defacing property, police said.

∎ Michelle Hurd, 34, of Greenfield was arrested Thursday at 12:49 p.m. at Wal-mart at Mountain Farms Mall on charges of larceny over $250, possession of a class B substance, oxycodone, a drug violation near a school or park, trafficking drugs and possession of burglary tools, police said.

Hurd was arrested after she attempted to leave without paying for $259.79 worth of clothing and video games, police said.

Northampton

∎ Viktoriya Romanchenko, 25, of Chicopee was arrested at 11:46 p.m. Tuesday on Maple Street on a charge of domestic assault and battery after allegedly striking a man in the face during an argument.

∎ Tyler Robert Barcomb, 26, of 149 Main St., Haydenville, was arrested at 4:59 p.m. Thursday at the Northampton police station on Center Street on a warrant issued by Northampton District Court on charges of unarmed robbery and malicious destruction of property over $250.

Southampton

∎ Dustin O. Grandchamp, 22, of 68 Newton St., Apt. 2, Holyoke, was arrested at Country Gardens Apartments at 134 College Highway Dec. 15 at 8:32 a.m. on a warrant.

∎ John P. Lennon, 31, of 147 East River Road, Middlefield, was arrested on Montgomery Road Dec. 14 at 1:31 p.m. on a warrant.

∎ Laurel A. Newman, 33, of 163 Franklin St., Westfield, was arrested on College Highway Dec. 12 at 1:26 a.m. on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

∎ Jonathan R. Kirley, 22, of 139 Norwich Lake, Huntington, was arrested on Cold Spring Road Dec. 11 at 6:43 a.m. on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and speeding.

∎ William A. Brbovic, 30, of 15 Coleman Road was arrested at his home Dec. 4 at 1:44 a.m. on charges of heroin possession, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, second offense, leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, unsafe operation of a motor vehicle, failure to drive in the right lane and a lights violation.

Brbovic was arrested after a driver reported at 12:15 a.m. that a car traveling on the wrong side of the road struck his vehicle and left the area. Police identified the car as Brbovic’s and located him at his home 90 minutes later.

∎ Haley Ann Isom, 19, of 31 Nye St., Chicopee, was arrested on East Street Dec. 2 at 10:06 a.m. on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and having no inspection sticker.

∎ Timothy Kean, 24, of 219 Boyden St., Waterbury, Conn., was arrested on College Highway Dec. 1 at 3 a.m. on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.
