Two hurt in S. Hadley collision, driver cited

A vehicle driven by a 70-year-old Easthampton man on Granby Road collided with a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old South Hadley woman when she attempted to take a left turn from Hillside Avenue onto Granby Road, said South Hadley Police Lt. Steven Parentella, who did not release the names of the people involved in the crash.

The 70-year-old man and his 66-year-old female passenger were both taken by South Hadley Fire District 1 ambulance to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries.

The 19-year-old driver of the second vehicle did not require medical assistance, and was cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic. Both vehicles were towed.

Amherst

■ Rene Rosado Colon, 35, of 346 North Pleasant St., Unit 3, was arrested Monday at 4:40 p.m. at an Amherst home on a charge of domestic assault and battery after he allegedly pushed a woman, police said.

■ A purse was reported stolen from a Jeep with its top down parked on State Street near Puffer’s Pond Monday at 2:44 p.m.

Easthampton

■ Alfonso A. Santaniello, 28, of Agawam, was arrested about 11:37 a.m. Monday on Main Street on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked license and operating an unregistered vehicle.

Granby

■ Jacqui R. Venne, 44, of Ludlow, was arrested at 7:53 p.m. Sunday on New Ludlow Road on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. She was further charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with revoked registration.

■ Anthony Marvici, 57, of Agawam, was arrested 6:38 p.m. on Monday on Ludlow Road in Belchertown after Granby police initially tried to stop him on East State Street (Route 202). Marvici was arrested by Belchertown police on a charge of failure to stop for a police officer and brought back to the Granby police station. He was further charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle, operating motor vehicle with revoked registration, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Northampton

■ Fredy Antonio Rosa, 39, of 24 Crestview Drive, Florence, was arrested about 3:44 a.m. Tuesday at home on two counts of domestic assault and battery for allegedly grabbing and kicking a woman during an argument.

■ Terrance Kyle Champion, 26, of Orange, was arrested about 9:49 p.m. Monday on Grove Street on a charge of trespassing after allegedly refusing to leave the Grove Street Inn homeless shelter when asked to do so.

■ A 14-year-old Northampton girl was arrested about 7:39 p.m. Monday at Bridge Street and Pomeroy Terrace on a charge of assault and battery on a police officer. According to police, officers were dispatched for a missing person call. When an officer approached the girl she allegedly punched him in the ribs.

■ Jacob Matthew Cutler, 24, and Cayla Sue Plasse, 21, both of Millers Falls, were arrested about 3:24 p.m. Monday near the Wal-Mart on North King Street on one charge each of larceny over $250 for allegedly leaving the store with approximately $650 worth of DVDs. Cutler was also wanted on three Greenfield Distrcit Court warrants related to motor vehicle charges and municipal violations, according to police.

A 16-year-old Millers Falls youth will be summoned to court on charges related to the arrest, police said.
