Tuesday’s boys soccer: Gateway blanks Holyoke Catholic

Josh Baillargeon had a goal and an assist for the Gateway Regional boys soccer team, which went on the road Tuesday afternoon to defeat Holyoke Catholic 2-0.

Curtis Dowers also scored for the Gators (2-0, 2-0 McGrath South), and keeper Mike Arel made six saves.

Tom Heavren stopped eight shots for the Gaels (0-2-1, 0-2-1).

Sabis 6, Easthampton 3­ — After being held scoreless through two games, the Eagles (0-3, 0-3 Schmid) got on the scoreboard in the home defeat.

Domenic Laszkowsky had two points scoring off a penalty kick along with an assist. Sam Godin and Mike Grise also scored for the Eagles, and Anthony Redfern had an assist.

Goalie Brady Parker had five saves for the Eagles before leaving with an injury. He was replaced by Darren Kim, who had nine saves.

Hampshire Regional 2, Palmer 2 — Brendan Bzdel and Bryan Brasil each scored for the Raiders (0-0-2, 0-0-2 Holley) in the tie.

Bzdel also contributed an assist as did Keven Brasil.

Ben Preston stopped five shots for Hampshire.

Frontier Regional 4, Athol 0 — Jamie Blinder scored twice to lead the Red Hawks (2-1, 2-1 Schmid) to the shutout home win.

Dan Bronke and Chad Parent added a tally apiece for Frontier, while Connor Hamilton assisted twice.

Dylan Husted earned the shutout with nine saves.
