Hampshire County Democrats to canvass area Sunday


CANVASSING FOR WARREN: Easthampton Democrats will join other Hampshire County Democrats on Sunday for a canvass in Hampden County. The event is open to all supporters of Elizabeth Warren, who is the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate. The event begins at noon from Elizabeth Warren’s campaign office at 30 Strong Ave. in Northampton. For information, call Joe McCoy at 297-2962.

WINTER COATS NEEDED: The Easthampton Community Center, located at 12 Clark St., is in need of donations of clean, gently used winter jackets and sweaters for children through adults of all sizes. Donations can be dropped off at the center from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, and noon to 5:30 p.m. on Fridays. RAG SHAG PARADE: The Annual Rag Shag Parade will take place Oct. 24 at 6:30 p.m., starting at Maple Street School. The costume parade will march through the city to the Williston Quadrangle on Park Street, where kids can receive goodies. The rain date is Oct. 25. TRIVIA NIGHT BENEFIT: There will be a Trivia Night Benefit on Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Pulaski Club, 79 Maple St. Proceeds will benefit the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee Scholarship Fund. COMMUNITY FORUM: The Goshen Senior Housing Planning Community Forum will take place on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Goshen Town Hall. The public is encouraged to attend to learn about progress made to date on the Goshen Senior Housing Planning Project and to give input on key planning issues, such as site selection and housing unit design. The event is sponsored by the Goshen Elder Housing Committee and the Goshen Council on Aging. Light refreshments will be served. For information, call Laura Baker at 268-0064.
