Emma Claire Kelty and Damian Greear Stephen of Brighton were married July 27 at the Garden House at Look Memorial Park in Florence. Michael Turvey, a University of Connecticut professor, now retired, officiated at the 5:30 p.m. ceremony.
The couple will change their name to Kelty-Stephen.
The bride is the daughter of D’Ann and Matthew Kelty of Leverett. The bridegroom is the son of V. Greear Cossit of Dallas, Texas, and F. Dwight Cossitt of Richmond, Va.
Following a reception at the Garden House, the couple honeymooned in Burlington, Vt., and Quebec City, Canada.
Nora Kelty, the bride’s sister, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaid was Kristina Pueschel Smith.
Navin Viswanathan was the best man. Aida Cossitt, the bridegroom’s sister, was an attendant for her brother.
The bride, 30, is a doctoral student at the University of Connecticut at Storrs. A 2000 graduate of Amherst Regional High School, she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, in 2004 and a master’s degree from the University of Connecticut.
The bridegroom, 29, is a research scientist at Wyss Institute at Harvard University in Boston. A 2000 graduate of McLean High School in McLean, Va., he received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va., in 2005, and master’s and doctorate’s degrees, both in psychology, from the University of Connecticut, graduating in 2010.
