PULASKI CLUB SCHOLARSHIP: Applications for the Polish Pulaski Club Scholarship will be available after June 1 at the club at 49 Maple St. Applicants must have completed the first year of a four-year college and have a parent who holds a share in the club. Completed applications must be postmarked by Aug. 15.
GAYLORD FRIENDS: A fundraiser for the Gaylord Memorial Library is being organized for Friday, June 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., featuring wine, cheese, chocolate, music, prizes and friends. The annual Wine, Cheese and Chocolate tasting and Big Basket Raffle will also include auctions and door prizes this year. Tickets to the event are $20 each or two for $35 in advance at Gaylord Library or Odyssey Books, or $25 at the door. Beer and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
Silent auction items include a fabulous mystery item from Olde Hadleigh Hearth and Patio, local art, two quilted wall hangings, a Jerome Liebling photograph, Gaylord Library framed giclee by Lee Hutt, a tour of the Statehouse in Boston and lunch for four with state Rep. John Scibak and more. Silent auction bids will be taken from now until the event, with final determination of high bidder to happen at the wine tasting. You do not have to be present to win. MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY: Southampton resident Maj. Gen. L. Scott Rice, commander of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, will be the keynote speaker at the town’s annual Memorial Day observances. The event begins at the William E. Norris School at 9 a.m. Monday. Marchers will process to Center Cemetery, where Rice will speak, and then to the veterans’ memorials in the center of town.
