Wednesday’s prep schools: Williston boys hockey blanks Worcester
William Flynn scored a hat trick and picked up two assists to help power the Williston Northampton boys hockey team to an 8-0 home victory over Worcester on Wednesday.
The win snapped a seven-game losing streak for the Wildcats (2-10). Frank Zumbo added two goals and an assist for Williston.
Suffield 73, Williston 56 — Tyonne Malone scored 19 points for the Wildcats (5-7) in the loss at Suffield.
Malone pulled down 11 rebounds and added three blocks.
Suffield 50, Williston 44 — Natalia Ovando scored a season-high 18 points but the Wildcats (3-4) fell in a back-and-forth game at Suffield.
Sarah Marion of Granby also notched a season-high 10 points for Williston, while Gabby Thomas of Florence added four points and played solid defense.
Williston 5, Berkshire 2 — Delaney Belinskas scored two goals and Miranda Gohh made 26 saves in the victory for the Wildcats (5-4).
Christina Zalewski chipped in a goal and four assists for Williston.
Suffield 5, Williston 2 — Evan Jacobsen of Northampton and David Fay of South Hadley took home victories, but the Wildcats (1-3) fell at Suffield.
Berkshire 4, Williston 3 — Olivia Foster, Shaina D’Souza and Haoshu Xu all won matches for the Wildcats (1-4) in the loss to Berkshire.
Deerfield finished first with 392 points and Williston finished fourth with 305 points in the first Mount Institute Ski League race of the season.
Dylan Alvarez placed first individually for the Big Green with a combined time of 66.08 seconds.
Deerfield scored 248 points to finish second overall, while Williston scored 210 points to finish third in the first Mount Institute Ski League race of the season.
Deerfield’s Lauren Stobierski placed first individually with a combined time of 72.12, while Maddie Dirats finished sixth in 81.33 for the Wildcats.
