PEARL HARBOR REMEMBRANCE: A remembrance of the attack on Pearl Harbor will be held Friday, Dec. 7, at noon at the Pearl Harbor Veterans Memorial Bridge on Route 5 in Easthampton.
The event commemorates the Japanese attack on a U.S. Navy base in Hawaii Dec. 7, 1941, that killed 2,390 Americans and led to the U.S. entering World War II.
Pearl Harbor survivors to be honored at the event include Augie Woicekoski of Northampton, Joseph Mieleszko of Hatfield, Edward Borucki of Southampton, Harry Chandler of South Hadley, Eugene Galuska of Granby, Lena Gordon of Holyoke, Robert Greenleaf of Westfield and Charles Lockhart of East Longmeadow.
The event is sponsored by the Northampton Veterans Council. Also participating are the American Legion Post 28 of Northampton and Post 224 of Easthampton, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8006 of Florence and Post 3324 of Easthampton.
