Gregory M. Case arrested in Easthampton for drunken driving with children in car
EASTHAMPTON — A Holyoke man was arrested Sunday at 1:30 a.m. after police said he was driving drunk with two children in his car.
Gregory M. Case, 29, was arrested on Holyoke Street on charges of two counts of child endangerment while operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol (second offense), passing in a no passing zone, speeding and having a child aged 5 to 12 in the car without a child restraint.
Police Sgt. Bruce Nicol said an officer with a radar gun observed Case passing a vehicle at 64 mph in a no-passing zone with a posted speed limit of 35. When the officer pulled him over, he determined Case was intoxicated, Nicol said.
The children were 7 and 8 years old. One was Case’s child, and the other was not related to him, Nicol said.
Nicol said police reported the incident to the state Department of Children and Families as required by law.
