Wednesday’s colleges: Amherst men’s soccer unbeaten

Spencer Noon, Ben Norton and James Mooney each scored as the Amherst College men’s soccer team shut out Connecticut College 3-0 Wednesday in New London, Conn.

Gabriel Wirz and Jae Heo each had one assist as the Lord Jeffs (12-0-2, 8-0-2 NESCAC) stayed unbeaten.

Thomas Bull made no saves in the shutout.

Elms 2, Becker 0 — Joseph Coleman of Easthampton had a goal as the Blazers (7-7-2, 3-2-1 NECC) won in Chicopee.

Women’s soccer

Amherst 2, Connecticut College 1 — Kathryn Nathan and Megan Kim each scored, while Kate Sisk had the assist as the Lord Jeffs (12-1-1, 8-1-1 NESCAC) won in New London, Conn.

Holly Burwick made one save in the win.

MCLA 2, Mount Holyoke 0 —Mackenzie Randall made six saves but the Lyons (2-12-2) fell in North Adams.

Women’s volleyball

Amherst College 3, Smith College 0 — Lizzie Ahern had 12 kills and Nicole Carter had 35 assists as the Lord Jeffs (12-8) cruised 25-19, 25-14, 25-18 in Northampton.

Rosa Drummond led the Pioneers (7-18) with 11 kills, while Mei-Li Smith added 15 assists and eight digs.

Field hockey

UMass Dartmouth 4, Wellesley 0 — Erica Allan of Amherst scored a goal as the Corsairs (13-5) won in North Dartmouth.

Amherst 2, Connecticut College 0 — Madeline Tank and Katie McMahon each had a goal as the 14th-ranked Lord Jeffs (10-4, 6-4 NESCAC) won in New London, Conn.

Women’s tennis

Wheaton College 5, Mount Holyoke 1 — My-Linh Nguyen and Margaux Holloschutz won at third doubles but Mount Holyoke (5-5) ended its season with the loss in the NEWMAC tournament.
