Williston boys soccer shuts out Westminster

Caleb DeMello of Easthampton and Pierre Deliso of Northampton each scored a goal as the Williston Northampton boys soccer team defeated Westminster 3-0 Wednesday afternoon in Easthampton.

Mark Richards had a goal and an assist for the Wildcats (3-1-1), while Aaron James of Amherst earned an assist.

Bailey Gawron stopped four shots in the win.

Girls soccer

Deerfield 2, Williston 1 — Kelly O’Donnell of Belchertown scored from Gia Parker of Amherst, but the Wildcats (2-3) fell in Deerfield.

Dina Dahdul made five saves in the loss.

Field hockey

Williston 3, Kent 0 — Taylor Senecal of South Hadley scored the first goal as the Wildcats (3-1) earned the shutout win in Easthampton.

Catie Laraway had the other two tallies for Williston.

Ursa Heidinger of Westhampton led the defensive effort in front of goalie Laura Aptowitz (two saves).

Boys water polo

Loomis Chaffee 12, Williston 11 — Dan Bridge of Worthington led the Wildcats with four tallies in the loss in Windsor, Conn.

Ryan Cavanaugh of Florence had a pair of goals for Williston, while Matthew Wegman made eight stops in goal.

Girls volleyball

Deerfield 3, Williston 0 — The Wildcats (1-4) were swept in Deerfield 25-10, 25-13, 25-14.

Elizabeth Calderone of Whately had eight digs, three kills, two aces and two assists for Williston.
