Deerfield pig farm hearing delayed
DEERFIELD — The hearing to set the rules for a Stillwater Road pig farm has been pushed off at the request of the farmer.
Stanley Romanowski, of 97 Stillwater Road, now will go before the Board of Health July 3 for a renewal of an annual permit of his 40-year-old family business.
The hearing was originally scheduled for Wednesday.
Romanowski’s piggery has had several run-ins with the town and his neighbors at the Meadows of Deerfield who have complained of loose pigs in the streets.
The hearing is an annual review of Romanowski’s permit.
The town sets rules for Romanowski to follow to keep running his 30-acre farm with its 80 adult pigs through what is called a site assignment.
