Water line break cause of flooding at Frontier Regional School
SOUTH DEERFIELD — A water main break caused an underground explosive sound heard late Tuesday afternoon in the Frontier Regional School parking lot.
According to South Deerfield Water Supply District Superintendent Roger Sadoski, at 2:47 p.m. a water line broke, sending water bubbling up to the pavement through a crack and flooding the school parking lot.
South Deerfield police and firefighters responded.
The cause of the pipe burst is unknown, Sadoski said.
The town isolated the small sinkhole that formed at the edge of the parking lot exit. It plans to have water service restored to the school so it can operate Wednesday, Sadoski said.
