The weather system that struck the East Coast on Wednesday played havoc with the high school postseason tournament schedule.

All games scheduled for Wednesday were postponed by the season’s first nor’easter, which brought snow to some areas of the region and caused at least one school to have early dismissal.

The Western Massachusetts Division 2 Field Hockey Tournament semifinals, originally scheduled for Wednesday at West Springfield High School, will be played Thursday at Holyoke High School. Second-ranked Smith Academy (11-3-4) faces No. 3 Mohawk (7-6-4) at 5:45 p.m. No. 1 Frontier (13-4-1) plays No. 4 Pioneer Regional (10-5-1) at 7:30.

One other local game scheduled for Wednesday was postponed. Two-time girls volleyball state champion and top-seeded Frontier Regional (19-1) will now host No. 4 Lenox (15-4) at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Meanwhile, game information for soccer semifinals has been made official.

In boys soccer Friday, Division 1 No. 2 seed Amherst (9-2-5) will play No. 3 West Springfield (10-2-7) at Holyoke High at 4 p.m. In Division 2, No. 7 South Hadley (12-5-3) will face No. 3 Monument Mountain (15-2-2) at Szot Park in Chicopee at 7 p.m.

Northampton High School on Friday will host a Division 2 doubleheader featuring boys and girls teams from the same schools. The top-seeded Belchertown girls (17-0-2) play No. 4 Mount Greylock (11-3-3) at 5 p.m. The No. 1 Belchertown boys (19-0) play No. 4 Mount Greylock (15-3-1) at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Amherst Regional will host a boys Division 3 semifinal between No. 2 Hopkins Academy (15-1-3) and No. 3 Westfield Vocational (13-4) at noon.

Meanwhile, Szot Park will have a Division 3 tripleheader Saturday. The girls semifinal between No. 4 Granby (17-0-1) and No. 1 Lenox (12-4-2) is at 11 a.m., followed by a boys semi at 1 p.m. with No. 1 Lenox (7-6-5) facing No. 4 Smith Academy (14-4-2). The other girls semifinal at 3 p.m. has No. 2 Smith Academy (17-2) playing No. 6 Gateway Regional (12-4-2).

In other sports, the Western Massachusetts gymnastics championship will start at 6 p.m. Friday at Chicopee Comp.

And the Western Massachusetts Division 1 and 2 cross country championships are Saturday at Northfield Mountain Recreation Center. Girls Division 1 starts at 11 a.m., followed by girls Division 2 at 11:40 a.m., boys Division 1 at 12:20 p.m. and boys Division 2 at 1 p.m.
